Last day of 2009

today is the last day of 2009!!! finally, it will be more natural to say that we are Impresario 2010 (haha, as mayqi reminded me. LOL)

first updates on what i've been doing. =] after the xmas party, had to go for evaluation at music forest with huan jie lao shi (and our quarter finalists are out!!). i had to say it was a really tedious process cuz we looked through alot of videos in case we missed out on any good ones. nevertheless, it was a brand new experience for me as i got a deeper understanding into how these finalists are being chosen during a competition. =] =]

den had to meet mayqi and huixin to discuss QF programme flow, and FINALLY met up with my course ppl to celebrate christmas on 24 dec. =]

made popiah with my family on the 25!! yum yum!! too bad zh and all cannot come. =[=[ abit of a miscomm. O.o

28 dec went to sing with zihui and jiahon g cuz got vouchers. haha. den 29 went to watch SHERLOCK HOLMES!!! haha. nice!!! =]=] i like jude law's character better cuz holmes is simply tooo..... weird. LOL. i like the way the subtlely inject a little humour here and there in their conversations. =]

basically, this week has been a rather relaxing week. hee. other than go out, its just stay at home, make some phone calls, edit briefing guide, edit programme flow, send emails, rot and watch tv. hahahah. i like~~ lol.

next 4 jan to 6 jan got 2 chalets at the same time! got OG HOLDEN chalet and impre chalet. haiz... how i split myself into 2?
LOL. shall see how ba, maybe pop here and there to see see look look.

anyway, main point is... today's the last day of 2009! how are YOU going to celebrate it? well, i'm gg to watch movie with my family later. its AVATAR! haha, finally! i've been complaining and complainin dat i haven got the chance to watch it yet.

at night, got to go to either dhammaduta or PKS for overnight chanting or spiritual countdown. hmmm... but anyways, it means i wunt be sleeping early tonight. hahaha.

to sum up 2009, i think it has been a roller coaster year for me. for the first 3 months, i helped my mum out at her centre on weekends den i went to NUH for attachment. the first time i entered the operation theatre!!! some of the scenes that i see inside will rly stay with me for life.

den it was crunch time as results were released. i rmb crying cuz i felt like i disappointed myself and my parents. Thanx to all who comforted me at that time! =] esp my laopos and mr tang! =]=]
after that, it was a mad rush to apply for scholarships, universities etc. going for all the open house, career fair... filling my room with the many many "green" bags, pamphlets, post-its, free pens! haha.

grandma came also about this time to get rid of her stones in the liver. so i basically camped at CGH for a week or so. was like a full time nurse at home. haha. i rmb cancelling all appointments to stay at home and bring my grandma to the hospital for check ups. dat time my mum still say "lucky you got rejected at all the job interviews." wow. but maybe its a blessing in disguise la. =]

in May, busy prepping for Vesak at Orchard. i rmb my mum call me and was like, "we rcv the letter from NTU already. haiz..." scare me like hell. thought i'm gg to be uni-less. hee. but this yr's vesak was heaps of fun though. like got to noe more ppl and we had alot of show times too. =]=]

in june, went to indo to look at grandma, also to shop and play. i think for 10 days? or 2 weeks? cant rly rmb. but on the second day there, grandma had a relapse and had to be sent to the ICU. den i camped again at the hospital but now in indo. haha. that period of time DAMN scary lor. den dad and sis also flew over. Lucky grandma is well and playing her mahjong now. =]=]

after coming back, preparation for YBC CAMP 2009! haha. den CAC FOC!! den school start liao!! LOL. everything seemed to pass so quickly. made new friends, learned new things, joined impresario, crammed for exams and played after it. hahaha.

wow, 2009 really seems like a fulfilling year. i think it has the most emotional ups and downs for me. lots of times when i thought i will have a nervous breakdown, lots of times when i just want to break down and cry, lots of times when i just laugh uncontrollably and of course, lots of times when i just cant stop smiling. =]

other than the events that happened and are still happening, the people that i've met this yr are also (mostly, i wunt say ALL) GREAT people. =] injected a new element of fun into my life and probably gave me a new perspective on how i view things. i've met with more different types of people, the super siao kinds, very mature kinds, some who are just nonsense and some that can just clique in a moment. just want to THANK all these ppl for being here and thankful that they came into a chapter of my life (though i'm sure our chapter wunt be closing anytime soon. =] )

most importantly, i want to thank my laopos! haha. for always being there even though we may each have our own lives now, new bunch of friends and all. you all always top on my list! haha, priority. =] really appreciate the fact that we can just meet and go out and talk like we've been seeing everyday just like o'school times. =] hope that our bond will always remain that way and we'll always rmb to make time for each other. be it once a month or once a yr (in future when we are working etc. ), as long as we still keep in contact. =]=]

Impresario auditions day 3 to 6 + Impre Xmas party

Ok. so my last post was for the seoul'd out concert on the 12 dec. but the truth is I WAS REALLY VERY BUSY.

on the 15th dec, acty went to Shokudo at Raffles City to celebrate Ivy's birthday and give her the nicely done calendar presents. =] haven rcv all the photos frm zihui yet though. =]


Basically ever since exams i have been busying myself with impre stuff. on 16th and 17th we had more vocal auditions at Music forest.

on 16th, i was the sound crew while on 17th i was runner between audition room and holding room. =] met diane who was coming for auditions. LONG TIME NO SEE gal! =]=]

auditions have been fun though a little tiring but i enjoyed evry min of it. =] it may be long hours of standing (or stoning) but i like to interact with the contestants and just be part of this whole experience. =]

on the 19th and 20th we had walk in auditions at kunion and it was a totally different experienced vbefore everything started we took a few photos here and there. den we set up and prepared for registrations. i was the runner between the registration table and the holding room for sat and the in charge for sunday.

On sat, cuz i was a runner, i tied up my hair. on sun, cuz i was in charge i never tie thinking i would be slacking away but i WAS WRONG. lol. in the end that day got a number of situations arose that left me lesser time to slack. lol.

at the end of both days, we got to sing in the holding room for a few hours. =]=] den we had all the Impre scandals and couples. LOL. all no basis wan. super random but super funny. and we had our very own IMPRE HOT STUFF. hahahha. i think one thing why i really enjoy my time in impre prob cuz evryone very similar. all siao siao wan. LOL. impre~~

through all the hussle and bustle, i think the comm slowly grew to be more comfortable with ppl outside our portfolios alrdy which is a good thing. =] hence on the xmas party on the 22dec, it was just pure laughter and joy. =]

the reds!! we had to wear either red or green that day but most of us wore red. so it became like national day. HAH.

gift exchange time! too bad i had to leave early. =[ i left about 9pm cuz i had to reach home b4 11pm and the place was our dear chairman's house at WOODLANDS. yarh, super inconvenient. heard they ended the thing at abt 11pm. i got the umbrella frm hanming (which evrybody was super happy when carine help me to pick whose gift i should rcv cuz evryone din want the umbrella). acty, i kinda like the umbrella. haha. cuz its lime green! wrapped in red wrapping paper though the wrapping abit.... cui. lol.

and huipeng received my present which i'm kinda happy cuz i noe that she'll be able to appreciate my effort and sincerity i put in making that christmas present. hee. (i already noe what present i'm gg to give the impre ppl and my close friends for CNY cum valentines's next yr! but to do it, i need to start getting the materials and prepare soon if not sure not enough time. =]=] )

after all these, we have to start preparing for dance heats and quarter finals alrdy. but i'm looking forward to chalet! =] we work hard and PLAY HARD.=]=]

Sundown festival Seoul'd Out Concert 12.12.09 (part 2)

okay, this is the part which everyone has been waiting for!! haha, the more popular pop acts started to come up. =]

first up was Mario& Park Sin Hae. wow, this girl can REALLY SING. her vocals was like super powerful!

i din manage to catch a pic of her though. mario's english was very smooth and nice! they sang quite a number of songs like "never say goodbye" from My Girl OST and Mario even did his own version of "Kiss me through the phone". they also sang "umbrella" by Rihanna and got the whole crowd singing along and grooving tgt. i think the audience were really cooperative as we followed and did whatever was being asked for. for example, raising of hands, singing along to certain parts such as the "ella ella eh eh~" part and also screaming whenever he said something along the lines of him loving Singapore. haha. i rmb he said,"I love Singapore. abit hot but. BEAUTIFUL" and everyone was like "AHHHH~~~~"

the atmosphere was so HIGH! everyone waving their hands and jumping to the beat (but when hands are waved means cannot take photos or vids cuz will get blocked. haha. )

following up was Lee Ji Su. I had to admit that i dun really noe who he was till he sang one song from My girl OST too. vids from the show came up and when Lee Jun Ki appeared on the screen... madness. haha. but later on, ppl started to hear that this guy can really sing! he had a really nice vocal and his techniques were good! as he belted out more and more ballads, i could feel the crowd growing to accept him for who he was. as for me, i'm gg to start looking for his songs. his live was really strong, powerful and soulful =]

PLUS, he was quite cute and funny. haha. in the beginning, he tried to speak english and used simple english to introduce himself and also say that his career started with what song (could not rly hear properly). den he said his english not very good and said something like "pls enjoy my music" in korean. afterwards, in between his songs cuz he dunno what else to say alrdy and the sound people keep giving him some time( in case he want to say something when he din want to) so he had to say, "Music start" to cue the music in. LOL. everytime he said that, the crowd giggled. LOL.

at about 10pm, the first pop group finally came up! T-MAX!!!! Yunhwa was really delicate while Mi chul and Kim Joon were really active and jumping ard and all. i regretted not taking a vid of them cuz they really noe how to make the audience high!

i loved the way they interact with the audience. in one of their songs, kim joon was shouting, "when i say T~~ you say MAX~~ T~~" and the audience went "MAX~~" and we rallied on for awhile, loud and clear. den, kim joon gave the thumbs up sign and smiled at us like an accomplished child. hee. cute.

michul's english was quite good too so he was asking if we will visit korea and all den he was like "say??" and we went, "yes!!" den he asked again and we replied, "yes!" again. after two times den he was like "so SAY YES!" and their song "say yes" came up. haha. damn cool =]

after the song ended, he shouted "SINGAPORE IS PARADISE!" then fireworks shot up and the song "almost paradise" came up. =] =] Loved their performance! so energetic and high!

sis was saying that yunhwa is like a go minam existence in their band. haha. cuz kim joon and michul took off their jackets due to the heat and only yunhwa kept his jacket on. yunhwa also had a higher pitched and more angelic kind of voice lol. but i was rather impressed by their live and think i'm gg to start taking note of this group from now on. =]

after them, it was the group that drew the most screams and melted the most hearts!! FT ISLAND!!! (look at the amt of cameras O.o)

too bad they din get to play live though. they were hand synching. only the singing was live. well, their starting wasn't really very enthusiastic prob cuz they could not play live but things picked up after Barae when EVRYONE was practically singing along and jumping ard and atmosphere was HIGH HIGH HIGH! they were prob encouraged and just performed their hearts out. =]

well, i can totally understand their feeling. like a rock band that doesn't play live? if i'm in that band i'll feel down too. but lucky they still had fun on stage and the response from the audience was still as enthusiastic as ever. =] GOOD JOB BOYS!

looking at these photos i'm rather happy. hahaha, cuz we managed to get quite a front and centre spot. heehee. but its really kudos to my sis for holding the camera and taking all these pics. its REALLY difficult to get a good shot with all those primadonna flags waving and hands in the air. plus, you have to fight with the NUMEROUS cameras trying to catch a shot of them too.

Now, videos to feast on. =]=] i can never get tired of rewatching this vids cuz i still cant believe the fact that i ACTY watched them perform on a stage and that they were just SO SO close to me. haha. we din even need to fly to korea to watch all these korean acts perform. =DD

when the starting of the songs came up, EVERYONE just screamed like hell. LOL.
then followed by bing bing bing!!!!

hongki did a little cute dance in the front but i din manage to catch it. sad...but he did the small round about thingy though. hee. =] =] and i was jumping along while singing haha so do pardon for the shakiness of the video. its really difficult to hold the cam still when u're like so excited. once in awhile we forget that we are recording so it gets a little shaky. hee.

den it was FT VS PRI. this vid is in two parts cuz got tired den stop for awhile. LOL.

the lightings from this part onwards sudd became very bright so very diff to take the boys faces clearly.

love all the small smiles that they have while they are singing. hee. =] =] if u see the amt of hands gg up to join in the singing u can see how diff it is to get a good shot. haha. but i dun blame them, cuz my hands must have blocked ppl behind too. LOL. oops >.<

lastly was the (planned) encore whereby FTI left the stage den the hosts ask us to shout encore and FTI came back up. O.o

den they sang sarang alhi aka LOVESICK!!!! one of my FAVE FTI songs of all times!<333

i din record the full performance for this cuz i wanted to catch some pics. at the end of this performance, they acty had these small sparklers thing that had a burst of sparklers. but hongki was standing too near to one of the outlets and he had a small shock when it came up. HAHA. his reaction was cute but lucky he wasn't hurt. =DD

anyway, during the performance, we could see that hongki was mainly looking more at the seunghyun and jaejin's direction. prob worried and on a lookout for SH?? such a nice hyung.. aww... cuz the previous day on the way back to the hotel room from rehearsals, some girl went to pull SH's hair that left him angry and he even pointed at her. but that girl, being a CRAZY fangirl went to post say what ppl jealous of her cuz SH is love at first sight. ROFL. wake up la.

SH being the newest member of the group alrdy had some anti fans b4 this so prob that's why the other members are more on a lookout for him ba.

oh ya, jonghoon was like SUPER active during the whole performance!!!haha, since he doesn't sing, he was hand synching all the way yet he could still keep such a high level of energy!! sliding from his side to the centre and back, jumping around. hahaha! super high!

as for hongki, he did an amazing job with his vocal parts even though a sore right eye must have been uncomfortable. his sore eye quite obvious in this pic:

as for the rest, i think everyone performed well, giving out some fan service from time to time. haha. cuz i was too busy taking videos i din really take much photos of the other members (and even if i did, it wasn't clear) so i got some pics from the soompi forum, credits as on the pics.

cool and cute SH who kept his jacket on till the end. not hot meh? hahaha. i'm beginning to like him. =]

minhwan puffing his cheeks durign the performance. haha. dun think its fun playing on padded drums but he still made it look fun. =] poor boy need more SPOTLIGHT and attention! he's too far from the back and they dun even give him enough light to stand out. O.o

charismatic and HIGH leader~~ haha. quite alot of honghoon moments. =] =]

jaejin~~~~~ what can i say? very cute and humble. =]

hongki din speak any english and just spoke korean with liyi translating at the back. haha. at least he knew himself. >.<

oops! think i talked too much about FTI already but their performance was REALLY THE highlight of the day!!!! =] LOVE~~

anyway, next up was the brown eyed girls!!

after FTI performance, i realised i still had like 5min plus of video time left and i so so regretted not taking a vid of T max's performance. so wanted to take BEG but their first song "sign" was lip synched den i sian. so din take. lol.

they sang a few other songs such as abracadabra, you raise me up and eotjeoga. the screams were prob a few decibels higher cuz of the guys who screamed along. LOL. i must admit their dancing is really good but their live singing can be improved though their rendition of you raise me up was strong and anchored. =]

OHOH! their legs are reallllly nice. how do u even get sculpted legs like that??!! and the screams for ga hee was the loudest (prob cuz more publicity from the We got married with Jo Kwon of 2AM).

after them, the hosts got ALL the performers to come back up on stage again (quite surprising cuz i thought they would leave right after performing) and Jonghoon kinda jumped onto the stage when it was FTI's turn. lol. he really has too much adrenaline huh. lol.

finally managed to catch a pic with all of the MISO musical ppl in it. they really started the show with amazing vibrancy!

FTI!!

Mi Chul, leader of T max even brought out his view cam to take the audience. haha. he quite funny i realised. during the seoul'd out press conference, he admitted that he almost fell when he just arrived at the airport cuz he was too excited to meet his fans and also cuz its his first time here. =] =] lol. fans acty even caught that shot on camera. hee hee.

cute SH doing the "saranghae" thing. minhwan acty even kneeled on the floor and bowed but i din catch that. and the rest of the members were like =.= " hahahhaha. cute la.

as i type this, i think i'm seriously becoming a paedophile. lol. its ok to like jonghoon and hongki since same age ma. but i think JJ, SH and MH all very cute leh. lol. noona will protect u. LOL.

anw, as we made our way out, we looked behind and VOILA! this was what we saw:

a mass of heads. LOL. read the reports on the next day and it said that abt 6000 plus ppl turned up. so we're VERY lucky to be so front. heehee. the wait was WORTH IT. on our way out, it was SO SO dark we finally could understand the fears of Hwang Tae Kyung. (oh, and everyone there practically watched you're beautiful" a few times cuz all ard us, ppl were talking abt it while queuing)when we finally exited, we had a strange feeling. it felt like we just came out of a school event.

there were so many parents waiting outside for their children!! standing by their cars and all. LOL. times have changed. now parents even support their young underaged children to go for such events?! lucky ppl.

also, as we walked down to go back to plaza sing to get a drink, the FTI cars drove past us! haha. cuz its a one way road la so just heng heng lor. so those ppl who squeezed outside the celebrity tentage just to see the cars come out... too bad. haha. they drove off in posh cars and we waved to them inside.

hongki was like DEAD beat. just lying his head on the seat rest. could not see jonghoon properly though. den jaejin was looking out of the window and giving a peace sign. KAWAII. hahaha. such fan service. anyway, hope they had a good rest and safely back in korea =] =]

i totally did not regret goin for this concert! it was WORTH all the sweat, the wait, the squeezing and the aching shoulders (and the dehydrating effect we felt at the end of it). the concert ended abt 11.20pm and we cabbed home. tired BUT satisfied. i'm so so going for the next big korean event (whenever that is) and PLEASE BRING MORE KPOP into SG!! then prob the prices will begin to drop. =] (the fanmeeting for FTI next jan is SO SO EXPENSIVE!!)

Sundown festival Seoul'd Out Concert 12.12.09 (part 1)

SEOUL'D OUT CONCERT WAS A BLAST AT FORT CANNING PARK ON 12.12.09!!! it was a celebration of all things korean and a great experience! i left the place with aching shoulders, tired leg, sticky bodies but feeling absolutely great. >.<

okay, as promised, i'm gg to write my full account of the event here. (be prepared for a VERY LONG post)

woke up in the morning feeling better than the day before but still popped a pill in case. (thank you for inventing panadol!!) den left to eat breakfast with dad before gg to plaza sing to meet chinee to pass him money for my AADBSK! hee.

me and sis wanted to go into Etude house to take a look but ended up buying enough to get member ship and a free lee min ho poster (dang! why not JGS!). and we TOTALLY regretted it later. imagine having to carry our heavy bag and standing for 4 hours THROUGHOUT. shagged.

we reached fort canning park at about 1.30pm and joined the queue. i think there were already about 500 ppl in front of us? heard these ppl reached at abt 7pm on fri to catch FT island's rehearsal when they came down from Korea Plaza fan meet and just stayed on till saturday. whoa. talk abt perseverance.

while queuing, we went to the toilet, shifted when security asked us to, talked about You're Beautiful, watched the episodes and more importantly, took photos. haha.

the queue only started moving at about 4.50pm and ppl were being slowly let into the venue. i think me and my sis only reached the gates at about 5.30pm. then there were security checks and also they checked our bags to ensure that we din bring any outside food and drinks in. i think its to the benefit of the vendors but it was really causing quite alot of litter outside the area.

once inside, me and sis quickly grabbed a spot to sit in the middle. we were not very near the stage yet but at least we got a good view. =] we saw some ppl setting up tripod for their viewcam. wrong move! haha, think these ppl prob dun have much experience for this kind of concerts cuz once it starts, everyone will just stand up and squeeze to the front that u cant see a thing if you're seated.

oh, while we were waiting for the rest of the ppl to stream in, our viewcam DIED on us. it kept asking us to eject the tape and we could not record. so in the end, we depended back on our digital cam. quality not as good but still not bad la. =]

in the meantime, they were playing some promotional vids for Sparkling Korea on the big screen at the side. in one of the vid, it was about Hallyu and super junior came up! people screamed but later when DBSK came up, almost EVERYONE screamed. haha. so we're all there to watch FTI but deep within we're rly a DBSK fan. LOL. that vid appeared three times and we screamed 3 times. ROFL.

also, when they were not showing vids, they played korean songs. when shinee's ring ding dong came up, it was so cool to see that all the ppl around you could sing the lyrics or just hum to the tune! then taeyang's wedding dress was being played and ppl went screaming agn. haha. the atmosphere was just great. =]

the concert started at about 7.35pm. when liyi and charlene (the two hosts) came up, as expected, EVERYONE stood up and just CHIONG to the front. guess i was too excited, i just grabbed my sis hand and RAN and squeezed into any hole i can find. practically everyone just abandoned their mats to rush forward. pity to those who had to keep their tripods though.

the show started with the MISO musical. i wasn't really expecting much but they were GOOD. they really showed what DYNAMIC KOREA meant. the girls were so elegant and smooth in their actions and the guys were so enthusiaitic in their performance. it was like the energy of the korean culture in one performance!


(i'm sorry for the lack of photos on other groups cuz one cam was down so i wanted to save some memory to video FT Island's performance. hee.)

after which it was the drawing show. they were really good! they drew up the singapore skyline and their performance incorporated painting, dance and humour altogether.

den one guy painted this korean landscape and voila! there was like water flowing from the pic! damn cool! he also drew a masterpiece of napolean in 6min! but i din manage to catch that.

after them,it was the JinJo BBoys crew. i dun really noe much about them but it seems like they have quite a fanbase for themselves here cuz alot of people were like chanting their names as they came up. they incorporated dance with acrobatics and it was definitely an eye opener. so many stunts that i have never seen before in any other dance performances!

we were quite lucky to get a place like 12 rows in front of the stage? everybody there were really into the korean culture and though everyone was there for the more famous pop acts, we cheered and screamed for the rest of the performers too. hail the KOREAN CULTURE! haha. but i was rather pissed with the girl beside me though. she was wearing the Primadonna Singapore show so it was obvious who she was there for but she kept complaining on and on and like so irritated that ft island never come up.

i mean, this IS a KOREAN CULTURAL FESTIVAL, not a FT ISLAND CONCERT. so she should show some respect to the other performers and its not like they were doing a bad job at their performance. they were great! so we should support them too. haiz, but the grp of them beside us are like secondary school ba, haiz, how can some ppl be so young and so b****y at the same time? they should show the due respect they deserve to be considered a real korean culture fan or even call themselves kpop fans cuz i'm sure FT island will want their fans to be appreciative of their culture and be respectful to others while loving them all at the same time.

anyway, i'm splitting this post into 2 cuz its seriously getting very long and blogger keeps giving me problems.
