Kim Hyun Joong store visit (The Face Shop @ Tampines Mall)

yup, you din read wrongly. i was there.

since the pretty boy is going to somewhere so near my house. i decided i should be respectful and pay him a visit. HAHA. ok la, i wanted to take his pictures so i went. Okay? XD

I wanted to reach there at 12pm but I decided to eat my lunch at home first, slack abit and i finally reached TM at 1.30pm. when i reached there, the crowd was already like, WOW. without hesitation, i just joined in and began my 3.5hrs wait =.= (by the way, KHJ really has a widespread of fans ranging from xiao mei mei to ahjumma and even ahjusshi!! serious! there was this uncle beside me and everytime there was a false alarm, he whipped out his camera phone as well. hahaha)

they had barricades up at about 2pm and the security kept asking the crowd to move back and dun push the barricades. some of them were rather friendly but got this aunty security super fierce and rude. she said stuff like, "are you all 3 yr old kids? move back!" no please no nothing.

luckily at abt 3.15pm, the emcee had arrived. using the mic, he politely ask the crowd to move back a little as the front people were getting crushed. he even explained that if the management thinks that KHJ's safety is being compromised, they will cancel the event. all this, he said in a nice and polite tone. i like, so i move. haha. though reluctantly, the crowd got inched a little backwards la. meanwhile, they also looped the Playful Kiss OST which had some fans singing along. i guess this helped to ease the atmosphere a little too. :)

but everytime there's a false alarm, ppl will start pushing to the front and the poor emcee has to repeat it over and over again. then, the next time someone false alarm he quickly said, "false alarm false alarm, when he comes i will tell you guys. dun worry :) " he's a nice emcee.

one of the false alarms was when the lion dance troupe arrived. ppl were blindly taking photos and some shouted, "never see lion dance before meh?" the emcee den asked something along, " do you all like them?" after he asked if the crowd liked KHJ and everyone shouted, "NOO!!"

the troupe looked abit sad and the emcee went on to console them. haha.


the clock started to tick closer and closer to 3.50pm (the supposedly arrival time of KHJ) but still no sight of him. the emcee got us prepared to wait somemore as he said KHJ is not arriving anytime soon. jokingly he said, "i think u all can go get coffee and come back"

he asked us to practice screaming so that we can be the loudest when khj arrives . first attempt wasnt' so good as expected and he asked, "did u guys eat lunch??" alot responded "NO!"
and he was, "why?! you all should have went to take lunch and come back he still wunt be here yet. " O.o

he also asked questions like, "did you all watch boys over flowers?" everyone screamed and there were fans who told him that KHJ's latest show is Playful kiss
at about 4.45pm, khj arrived!!!! it had been pouring since 3plus so i guess the delay in press conference and traffic must have caused the delay in arrival. The face shop put on facebook that KHJ was so sweet he rushed through his lunch to minimize the delay for store visit so i forgive him.

when he arrived, TOTAL MADNESS. there were screamings, pushings, shovings... ALL HELL BREAK LOOSE. let me emphasize and shout out to all fans out there who are gg for future events: Heads are NOT tripods, Bags are NOT handrests!

grr, utterly pissed when ppl started resting their hands on my head, shoulder etc. at one point i couldn't even lift my hand up to take photos. =.= and thru this event i also realised that singaporeans DAMN RICH. since i was 4th row from the front, i thought,"swee, i can get super good pic somemore my cam can zoom so far."

I WAS WRONG.

when KHJ came, the amount of cameras up was like OMG. let me just post this vid to let u see how many cameras were there (its the arrival of The Face Shop director by the way):


lots of DSLRs and they were so big and bulky they absolutely blocked my view for like 3/4 of the time! last time, most fans had compact digicams and i could still find clear areas to take some photos. but now! it was so so so difficult to find a tiny hole which can see khj to take a good photo. trust me, it was soooo difficult to take a good pic. everytime i finally found a clear spot (emphasize: SPOT not even AREA), i had to focus on khj first and just as i were to press the shutter, either some other camera will come up and block my view or someone will knock into me. results? blurred/over exposed pictures. :(

then now, the vid of KHJ arriving. it was raining heavily outside so i guess it much have been tough for him to enter after dropping off by the roadside outside that entrance. i could not see anything when i was filming this so i'm glad it turned out okay =]


anyway, once he arrived, there was a lion dance performance (KHJ looked super shock when the lion spewed out vegetables. haha.) the emcee then invited him to tour the store and finally a short interview. at about 5.oopm, he said thank you to the fans and poof! he was off. a whirlwind stopover of 15minutes. here are some of the pics i took:

ah... my hair follicles... haha, me imagining what 4th dimensional KHJ may be thinking while doing this action. hurhur.


during the interview, he mentioned some stuff about thanking The Face Shop for this asia tour and for making him ambassador. He also asked the fans to support The Face Shop and their products (duh! he's the ambassador. so he had to mention these). He also said that the lion dance show was interesting (HAHAHA) and thanked the fans for coming to support him.

KHJ also said that he was really surprised at the amount of fans who welcomed him at the airport. As it was his first time here, he totally din expect it. He said that he was really happy to be able to come to Singapore as TFS ambassador and next yr, he hopes to come back again to promote his solo album.

i tried to take a video of him talking (which was the part about him coming for album promotions) but as u can see, its really tough to get a clear and steady shot of him. sometimes when i put down the camera, i cant even see him clearly cuz i have to peer in through all the DSLRs in front.


Well, i guess he is really very happy to be here. he was loads of smiles and constantly flashing his signature small. he mentioned in the press conference that he wants to come back as a singer and not ambassador next year! and plans to include Singapore in his Asia tour fanmeeting for his solol album. During the press conference, he mentioned that when he first saw the fans at the airport, he even doubted if they were his fans. but he saw the boards and fans were shouting his name so he confirmed that they were his fans. he felt really surprised and elated. along the walkway, he collected fangifts that were stretched out and while in the terminal, he even gave a handshake to a fan who was in the terminal as well. once he reached the car, there were vids of him immediately taking the fangifts and all to read. he's a really sweet leader =]

and another super amazing thing! during the fanmeeting today, they had a charity bid where they auctioned off 2 autographed standees of KHJ. the total amount raised was $19872!! one standee was auctioned off at $6500 and the other one at $6686 to match his birthday. all proceeds will go to the Disables Peoples Association. KHJ said he was very touched that he was worth so much to the fans and donated another $6686 himself to match the last bid. AWWwww. so so nice. during the fanmeet, it was said that khj acty asked the host ah ken to close the bid at $6060 but ah ken just kept raising it. haha. i guess he feels for the fan as well?? i mean, $6000 plus for a piece of cardboard with some ink? the fan is either extremely rich or she EXTREMELY loves KHJ.

but in this case, khj is like doing this event for a discount? since he also pay so much. but its all for a good cause so i guess the bigger winner from this event is The Face Shop and the Disable People's Association. acty, i find that this kind of charity bids are rather good cuz it lets u support ur idol and do some charity but probable not at such an exorbitant price?? a few hundreds will b good enough. and to think the starting bid for the standee was acty $150. with each raise of the hand, the bid goes up by $50. i think the organizers are genuinely shocked as well.

this is a picture i took of the standee while it was still at TM. my gosh, i still cant believe that this was acty auctioned off for $6000 plus dollars :O


anyway, my takeaway from this event: some nice pictures for me to admire at home, the experience of a crazy fan (i honestly never dreamt that i would have a day like this), chance of meeting khj in real life, a back ache, leg ache and neck ache. my neck still hurts as i type this now.

but as the triple s will feel, its all worth it! (i guess) but kim hyun joong looks absolutely stunning in white i must say. and his skin is FLAWLESS. but i think he needs more sleep, eye bags are super obvious.
