Project C.A.N

yesterday, went to Choa Chu Kang to do a CIP called project c.a.n. we went to houses to collect canned food and dried goods for the elderly and needy families. i went to 4 blocks, blk, 470, 472, 444 and 447.

it was very tiring but i find this CIP more meaningful den flag day. you get to see real sincerity of the donors. some acty went out to buy canned food specially for donation! i think its so touching and i think their kindness is really appreciated. of course, what is cip w/o meeting some weird ppl?!
i went to this house whose door was wide open. i saw an uncle inside so i started telling abt our project and how he could help. den he told me, "不要,没有人在家。" i wan like what the hell! are u implying i'm seeing a ghost? diao. den there was this aunty who also left her door WIDE open. when we rang her doorbell. she sat up and took a look at us and went back to lie down on her chair. den we dunno what they meant ma, so we carried on to talk to her la. den she never even respond and just continued to shake her leg!! at least say a don't want or wad la. so rude. haha, and got one girl very cute leh.. she passed one can of food to cindee and said, " bye AUNTY!" hahaha, so funny lor.

after that a few of us carried on to help do the sorting of the cans although it was optional. i think that it was also very fun cuz, the NUS volunteers were all very nice and helpful. they din treat us like students, instead, more like a friend and we got accustomed very quickly. oh ya, after zh's reminder. me and jw came across a very strange can while sorting the seafood cans. the can acty wrote, "海底鸡 SeaChicken" LOL! den we were wondering if the seachicken lives in the sea. so we went to ask one of the NUS ppl. he read out 海底鸡 and burst out laughing! haha. after scanning thru the can carefully, we found out it was a FISH! wad an experience learned!! acty wanted to help them sort finish but i had to go for dinner with my parents. haha, prob i'll volunteer myself again next year. feel like going for the distribution part got the minister dialogue session... see how first ba.

after that, my family went to parkway to eat Jack's Place!! whee~~ very nice, i had black pepper steak, lobster bique soup, garlic bread, banana split and a cup of coffee!! so fulfilling!!

P.S: got ppl acty donated abalone! those big ones u noe?? those one can only can put one abalone wan! cuz me and jw were doing the accounting for the baked beans, pickled lettuce, mushrooms, braised beans, pork, fish and the seafood(excluding fish) ma.den we saw... singaporeans realy very generous ya! but i feel esp touched cuz even though nowadays, there's alot of doubts abt doin charity yet, you can still feel the 温情满人间... =] =]
