i was glad that i went for the University Scholars Program (USP) trip on 30th sept cuz firstly, it helped me to forget my results and thru this trip, i can once again feel the close knittedness of the Dunmanian family. =]
this trip was only for the 32(?) of us that went so it was ONLY us and no other schools around. first, we went to this conference room where there was a woman who talked to us what USP was all about and sharing sessions from USP alumni and current student. den, we had a tour of the USP premises. followed which, we had refreashments and a tour around the NUS campus.
the talk was quite interesting cuz the speakers were fun and bubbly. den, as we toured the USP facilities, i found out that thewhole environment there was very cozy and friendly. =] also, they only accept180 students each year, its like another small cohort like ours again. LOL.
our group was the first at the refreshments and needless to say, being typical dunmanians, we were totally not shy to express out hunger. haha. we ate and talked andthe USP personnel was so surprised to see that we all knew each other so well. there was this convo which was very funny:
USP personnel: How come you all like know each other?
nigel: we very small
USP personnel: (looks at nigel) dun look like it.
LOL! haha, i cant rmb the exact words but something like dat. haha, while eating, we cracked lots of jokes and the whole atmosphere was very heartwarming. i think next time, i'll begin to miss the times when you see girls going for 3rd or 4th helping without feeling paisei, all the niao-ings of each other etc. as we talked about our future,i sudd realized how litle time we have left. be it towards a levels or simply the time that we have left to spend with each other. haiz... every bit of my dhp life is an impt part of me and they make up the really precious memories in my life.
minna! arigato!
when we went to the campus tour, we were like talking about which faculties had the best canteens and what food etc! haha, it seems like our topic never leaves the idea of FOOD! den when we went to see the Prince George's Park residences, we suddenly became like tourists were simply so amazed at how nice this 'hostel' was. this was certainly another perk of being in the USP. you get special rates for staying in such a condo! haha.
anyway, the whole trip was fun and it made me feel like i was a pri school student on some kind of excursion again. haha. hmm, now seriously thinking of getting into USP. acty its really quite attractive esp for me since i want to go overseas and also like the idea of studying multidisciplinaries. for eg, in USP, u can even be attached to waseda uni!! for like a yr to do ur advanced curriculum!! den although i'm gg to study science, i can also take up mudules like visual and performing arts! its so interesting and i think i like the idea. this trip has really aroused my interest. i should start to work hard den!! =] besides, its a win win cuz i get to stay close to home as well as travel (which is what i like to do) !! oh ya, the person also said that we seemed like the type of ppl they were looking for, fun, energetic and passionate. haha.
USP~~~ aim aim aim! haha.
but still wanna try to aim UK. LOL. argh, got to past my personal statement first draft to Mr cave by this week! i haven started a word yet!
